Krabi Interesting Activities:

Krabi providing: available scuba diving, Sea-canoeing, Kayaking, Snorkelling, Biking, Rock Climbing, Deep Sea Fishing and others activities of the most spectacular destinations in Southern Thailand.

Sea Canoeing:

One of several ceo-tourismactivities available in Krabi is sea-canoeing, and there are few better ways to thoroughly enjoy the spectacular scenerythan by drifting leisurely amongst the limestone cliffs.This is perhaps the best way to explore Krabi's countless inlets and deserted beaches, allowing travellers to discover the true magic of the atea at their own pace.

Kayaking:
Kayaking is available in the waters off Krabi and Phang-nga provinces, which boast some of the most spectacular seascapes and marine life anywhere. Canoe and Kayak rentals are available at many of the guesthouses in the Ao Nang arera, and guides are also available to lead you through the myriad of small, desertedislands.

Snorkelling & Diving:
Dive shops provide mask, snorkel and fins for hire at around 150-200 baht a set per day. You will probably have to pay a deposit of around 500 baht. They also offer you dive trips to, and education about, some of the most spectacular destinations in Southern Thailand.

Biking:
Mountain bikes cost around 180 baht per day to hire and can be found around Ao Nang. The terrain is spectacular and great time.

Rock Climbing:
Every year literally thousands of climbers come to Krabi specifically to challenge themselves on the famous limestone karsts, and most will agree that it was well wort the trip. There are over 150 challenging pegged routes, concentrated primarily on the Phranang peninsula, between Tham Phranang beach and Rai Lay beach. These routes are typically in the mid to high difficalty range, with numerous overhangs, and sheer limestone faces.

However, there are also several beginner climbs, so that even the novice climber can experience the thrill of climbing. Equipment rentals, instruction, and guides are all available.

Diving:
Krabi's water are great for snorkelling and scuba diving. Popular sites include; Koh Poda, Koh Hong, Koh Yung, Koh Phi Phi Le, Hin Muang and Hin Dang Reefs, Koh Rok and Koh Ngai. many companies cater to divers of every level and pocket-book; most are located at Ao Nang, Krabi Town, Phi Phi Don Island, and Koh Lanta.

Bird-Watching:
Bird-watching is especially good from January till April in the mangrove forests surrounding Kanab Nam Hill near Krabi Town. Many rare birds are to be seen there; Gurneys, Finfoots, Egrets, Bitterns, Harons and more. Another excellent bird watching sight is Khao Nor Chichi Forest Preserve, commonly known as Tung Tiao, in Klong Tom district, a low-land forest populated by the nearly extinct and only recently re-discovered black-breasted Pitta Gurney.

Forest Treks:
Sights you'll never forget are around the next bush in Khao Nor Chuchi, which is criss-crossed by easy trails; other interesting trails are found in Khao Panom Benjah National Park.

Excursion:
Travel shops in Ao Nang sell island tour tickets which pool strangers into the one boat. This has brought two daytrips within reach of most pockets. The Phranang cave and Koh Poda daytrip costs 200 baht per person, and the Koh hong daytrip costs 250 baht per person. The price usually includes snorkel, mask, lunch of fried rice, water and fruit. Each boat leaves around 9:00 am. and returns about 4:00 pm. Booking is available at most bangalows and at travel counters. The Koh kai, to relax, snorkel and sunbathe. At low tide on Koh kai a powdery white land forms linking three islands.

The Phi Phi daytrip by boat leaving Ao Nang at 9:00 am. daily and returns at 5:00 pm. A roundtrip ticket costs around 700 baht including a simple lunch, touring the Viking Cave and snorkelling in Maya Bay.

The Khlong Thom Hot spring & Forest Hoking costs 500 baht per person.
The Ao Luek daytrip (to see waterfalls and caves) costs around 500 baht.

How to get to Krabi:   

Car:

From Bangkok by Car: Drive along Highway No. 4, passing Petchaburi, Prachuab Khirikhan, Chumporn, Ranong, and Phang Nga Provinces before reaching Krabi; a total distance of 946 kilometres. An alternate route is take Route 4 to Chumporn and turn into Highway No. 41 at Chumphon via LangSuan a district of Chumporn to Chaiya and Wieng Sah District of Surat Thani. Continue driving along Highway No. 4035, via Ao Luk district of Krabi, back onto Route no 4 , and down to Krabi Town. This shortcut is just 814 kilometres. From Phuket take Route 402 to Route 4 and pass Tambon Kok Kloy of Takua Tung District in Phang Nga, and enter Ao Luk district of Krabi, the total distance is 185 kilometres.

Bus:

From Bangkok by bus: Air-conditioned buses depart from Bangkok's South Bus Terminal to Krabi every day. The journey take 12 hours.
Departure times and fares are as follows:

First class (VIP) bus with 24 seats - 7:20 pm., 900 Baht.
First class bus with 40 seats - 7:00 pm. 586 Baht
Secound class bus - 7:30 am., 7:00 pm., 7:30 pm. and 9:00 pm., 478 Baht.

Rail:
